New FireScape Workshop to Show Orange County Residents How to Prepare Homes Against Fire Risk
Orange County Coastkeeper will host a free workshop teaching local residents how they can create a firewise garden and defensible space for their homes. At the FireScape workshop, Coastkeeper Garden Director and FireScape specialist will cover practical and efficient landscaping techniques to improve curb appeal and safeguard homes from wildfires.
Due to this year’s heavy rainfall, brush and weed growth is much heavier than in past drier years. This growth can quickly become fuel for fast-spreading wildfires, putting Orange County residents at risk. The FireScape workshop will teach residents how to protect their homes against harmful fires.
